The Shiloh Shepherd
The Shiloh Shepherd is an impressive appearance! The dog is large, intelligent, courageous, versatile, has a gentle character and a heart of gold.
The Shiloh Shepherd is a sensitive breed and therefore it is important to socialize the dog well from an early age and train it in a positive way. The Shiloh Shepherd is a true family dog and, after proper socialization, easily adapts to various lifestyles and living environments. The dog is extremely friendly to (small) children, stable, and social.
Towards strangers, the Shiloh Shepherd is often reserved, but once he knows you, you will be showered with joy and love. A Shiloh Shepherd is easy to train for obedience, agility, as a rescue dog, therapy dog, or service dog. But above all, he is your best friend and will always be loyal to you and protect you.

ORIGIN
The Shiloh Shepherd breed was developed by Tina Barber from the US state of New York. Tina grew up with German Shepherds. The fascination for this dog inspired her to develop a dog breed with the intelligence of the German Shepherd, but larger, with better hips and a more stable temperament.
After years of an intensive breeding program by Tina, she succeeded in breeding the Shepherd she had envisioned. She has for the Shiloh Shepherd as an outcross a Malamute, a Old German Shepherd and an American White Shepherd used.
Every time, she extensively researched the backgrounds of these dogs regarding health, conformation, and temperament. This is how she arrived at a responsible choice to lay a healthy foundation for the development of the new Shiloh Shepherd breed.
RAS IN DEVELOPMENT
The Shiloh Shepherd is a developing breed that is still rarely found in Europe. The breed is not yet officially recognized by the AKC American Kennel Club FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale). Therefore, when purchasing a puppy of this breed, check whether it is a genuine Shiloh Shepherd.
Shiloh Shepherd breeders complete training within the Shiloh Shepherd Association before they are allowed to breed independently. They adhere to strict guidelines regarding the health, temperament, and conformation of the dogs used for breeding. Attention is also paid to the pedigree relationship of the pairing. To consult all of this data, there is an extensive database containing all the information of the registered Shiloh Shepherds. Through careful selection in breeding and by staying faithful to the breeding conditions, we strive to further develop this special herding breed.
Future puppy owners are expected to cooperate in the further development of the Shiloh Shepherd. After purchasing a puppy of this shepherd breed, you are required to take three tests. In this way, you too will help build the breed of this special dog. You can read more about this at the puppy page from this website.
